Why your First Lash Lift may not be successful

In our previous post we’ve discussed how long your lash lift can lasts depends on the skills of the lash technician.

An experienced lash technician would be able to choose a suitable processing time for the lash lift lotion. Too little time can lead to a weak curl that will not last as long and too much time can lead to overprocessing which can overcurl and fry your lashes.

However during your first visit where we have never done a lash lift on you before, this can be tricky because each individual’s lashes is different and reacts very differently to the lotion. On most occasions first time clients can achieve a beautiful curl however occasionally we can have clients with extremely stubborn lashes or overly receptive lashes which we can only achieve beautiful result on our second lift after knowing how receptive your natural lashes are after the first session.

Clients with stubborn lashes

For example, the standard time of processing the lotion for 10min can achieve a beautiful curl for 90% of clients but this timing can lead to almost no curl in stubborn lashes or even overprocess some lashes. Due to this reason, we tend to allow a safe processing time for our first time client in order to avoid a situation where lashes is overly processed and should you need them relifted to achieve a stronger curl, it can be done in the next couple of days.

Clients with overly receptive lashes

this rarely happens but we’ve noticed some client’s lashes can overcurl and be overly processed despite us using a minimum processing time. The reason is unknown but this would unfortunately mean that you are not a suitable candidate for lash lift.

We hope this blog has cleared some of your queries if your past lash lift experience wasn’t 100% satisfactory but an experienced lash technician should get it right the second round!
