Lash Extensions FAQ
Under normal circumstance with proper aftercare, your lash extensions should last around 4-5weeks before everything falls out. Our extensions will fall out together with our natural lashes as just like the hair on our head, our lashes do fall out. This however, is hardly noticeable when we do not have lash extensions on as our natural lashes are very fine. But you will realise this once you applied extensions as extensions are thicker & darker. Please do not worry that this is due to extensions damaging your natural lashes (unless your natural lashes are falling out in chunks).
This is just our natural lash growth cycle at work. With matured lashes falling out so that new and healthier lashes can grow!
It is safe ONLY if it is applied properly by a experienced professional. We have seen and heard of cases from clients with bad experiences where their eyes are glued shut/developed eye infection/irritation due to not doing proper research about the salon before going for appointment.
When done properly, it will not cause damage to your natural lashes and you do not need a break from the extensions at all (how amazing!).
All lash extensions used in our boutique are made from high quality Korean PBT (Polybutylene terephthalate) that most people known as faux mink/silk. PBT is a made-made material and, in the case of extensions it imitates the texture of real mink fur. It is soft and comfortable, retains its curl extremely well under heat and at the same time 100% cruelty free and vegan!
Nope! You should never feel anything during the process if it’s done properly by a professional.
Most of our clients fall asleep during the procedure as the process is so relaxing and calming! The remaining 5% are people who either had coffee (NOT recommended as it may cause your eyes to twitch) before their appointment or just pure talkers!
Definitely not talking even though our lash technicians are lovely! Proper lash extensions application requires a lot of precision-literally like a surgery and the slightest movement in your facial muscle can cause improper application and can slow down application time and even cause improper application.
We recommend you to come in on a day when you’re not feeling too hyper and haven’t drank any caffeine so you can have a nice nap during your appointment!
Not at all! It will feel like as if you have nothing on except for the added air of sassy!
Again, improper application by an unqualified eyelash technician can cause a lot of irritation and pain for your eyes, making you want to pull your lashes out!
It is important to come with clean lashes, with no makeup residue/skin care products on your natural lashes in order to allow proper adhesion of the extensions.ย Failure to do so may cause premature fall out of your extensions just a few days after application which the salon will not be responsible for.
This is the same for infill appointment. Please make sure to remove your eye makeup & ideally wash them well before coming. ๐
Professionally done eyelash extensions takes much precision and skills. Our natural lashes are extremely fine and comes in different lengths so it takes time and effort to be able to identity them one by one and apply individual extensions on without creating clumps (which can cause severe damage to your lashes).
If you have ever gotten a full set of lashes under the duration of an hour, we are certain that the set was not done with full precision and in most cases will cause damage to your natural lashes either in a few days (if done extremely poorly) or a few weeks time (if done poorly).
We are using our in-house glue that we have developed with the latest technology in the market such that you can wet your extensions almost immediately after the treatment. No more waiting for 24 hours!
It depends. We will gladly do it if the current extensions that you have on is of good quality-meaning extensions applied need to have minimum glue/not chunky with lashes stuck together. It is hard to assess just over photos so do book in for a quick consultation and let us check the quality of your lashes before booking in for an appointment.
To be very honest, there are actually no difference between silk and mink and in fact it’s just a marketing gimmick that a lot of salons use to charge clients a premium price if clients were to opt for the mink option which is deemed by many as more luxurious. Both silk and mink extensions on the market these days are made from man-made PBT fibres and are extremely soft and comfortable.
- There are only two differences we can think of :ย the quality of these fibres which might affect how long lasting the extensions are and how well they retain their curls.
- The finish of them which can be either glossy (usually silk) or matt (usually mink). This of course, can also differ from manufacturer to manufacturer.
Good question! There are various factors that determine how well your extensions will last and the list is almost non-exhaustive such as: weather changes, skin type, hormonal changes(eg.menopause/pregnancy), seasonal changes, medication/supplements, aftercare, skincare & make up products used and so on!
With all the above remain constant, the main factor would be how fast your lash cycle is! For those with higher metalbolism you will probably need to have your infills done every 2 weeks. This is because your natural lashes will shed faster which means your extensions will fall out quicker as well since they will be attached together. The reverse is true for those with a lower metalbolism rate. Some clients’ lashes stay on really well and will only need infills done every 3-4 weeks!
The diameter for Classic extensions used in our boutiques is usually 0.15mm whereas Volume lashes has a diameter of just 0.05-0.07mm. Volume lashes is even more light weight than Classic if you opt for 2D/3D option in our boutiques!
Should you have heaps of healthy natural lashes, you will be able to handle the weight of the Classic extensions and it will show nicely on you.
However if you do have weak, sparse, damaged, gaps in your natural lashes due to damage, hormonal changes, we do recommend our super lightweight volume lashes as it will help to cover up the gaps and give the appearance of fuller looking lashes and at the same time not looking too full.
We have many options available to suit different styles and preference however our style is usually natural and classy so we are not able to do dramatic or overly long styles if that’s what you’re after.
We have:
Curl: C (medium curl) and D (strong curl).
We have tried different types of curls in the market and find this two curls most flattering and universal for all eye shapes!
Diameters (mm): 0.05, 0.07, 0.10, 0.12, 0.15 (our experienced technicians will pick one that’s suitable for the health of your natural lashes)
Lengths (mm): 7-14mm.
Colour: Black coloured extensions only.
Volume lashes will definitely lasts longer than Classic as our handmade volume fans can wrap around your natural lashes, forming a very secure bond. Classic lashes on the other hand is just simply one single lash placed on top the the natural lash so the area of bonding is not as much as volume.
If you’re going away on a holiday and want your extensions to really last, you should definitely try our handmade volume lashes!
Volume/Hybrid Lash Extensions FAQ
The simple answer is NO! It is all about the technique of the technician. The same surgical knife can create very different result.
Volume lashes comes in many types and forms. The crazy looking ones you saw outside on some people are most of the time not done professionally as a responsible lash technician would not want to apply anything too long or heavy as it will undermine the health of your natural lashes.
There are varying types of intensities for volume lashes ranging from light volume to mega volume where different amount of extensions is applied on each individual lash.
Light volume (our most popular set): 2-3D where only two to three super lightweight extensions (0.05-0.07mm diameter) is placed on one single natural lash. Can be done without breaks for years as these are SOOO lightweight and very natural.
Medium-high volume: 4-6D where four to sixย extremely lightweight extensions (0.05mm diameter) is placed on one single natural lash. Can be done without breaks for years only if you have healthy natural lashes.
Mega volume: where at least 8-20 extensions is placed on one natural lashes. We don’t offer this option as only clients with very strong and healthy natural lashes can do this and it’s not recommended to have these on in the long run as it is heavy.
Before booking in for an appointment, you should check out the styles of the salons to see if they produce the style that you’re after.
Depends on the technician/salon!
The diameter for Classic extensions used is usually 0.15mm whereas Volume lashes has a diameter of just 0.05-0.07mm. Volume lashes is even more light weight than Classic if you opt for 2D/3D option in our boutiques!
Some places do use the same Classic lashes for Volume lashes as this can create the most impact in just a very short time. However this will be extremely damaging to your natural lashes. We allocated a lot of time for our clients so we can preserve the integrity of the natural lashes by applying many tiny and fine extensions individually.
You might have heard of places advertising themselves to do handmade volume fans. Handmade fans are definitely better than Premade/Promade volume fans as they are more lightweight/last longer/more natural and comfortable.
The name Premade already give it away: it is where the volume fan is already created and made in the factory and its shape set in the factory. This caused the base of the fan to be already glued once in the factory, and the technician will have to dip it into the glue again before applying on your lashes. The Premade volume fans is thus dipped into the glue TWICE and create a thick and heavy base creating a darker and more fake look and also not last as long. Premade is thus more affordable and treatment time is shorter.
The handmade fans are made on the spot by our technicians and because it had not been dipped into the glue at all, we can manoeuvre the lash fan to wrap around your natural lashes instead of just floating on top of your natural lashes like the Premade fans. This resulted in much longer and comfortable lasting extensions as compared top remade however treatment time would be longer!
Hybrid is a mix of both Classic and Volume lashes. Each salon’s hybrid set can look very different depending the ratio of the mix and also the type of volume lashes that they mixed in. Some have a higher ratio of Classic Lashes wherelse some has a higher ratio of Volume lashes.
Our Hybrid set is a mixed of ย 70% Classic with 30% Volume which will create the perfect look!
Lash Lift FAQ
Lash lift is a process when your natural lashes are chemically treated with lotions to change the hair structure so that they become curly.
The process is painless and non-invasive and most clients even fall asleep during their appointment!
They should last anywhere from 4-7 weeks depending on how fast your natural lashes are shedding.
The lashes that we lifted during your treatment will stay lifted until they fall out naturally. The straight lashes that you will see throughout the weeks of your treatment will be new growth.
Lash lifts are extremely low maintenance as compared to extensions and you do not need to revisit every couple weeks.
We recommend getting it done every 6-8 weeks however if you feel like you don’t have the time for it you can come in whenever at your convenience!
You can also apply makeup, mascara, wash your face like you normally would without affecting the curls.
The only aftercare we would recommend is to purchase an aftercare serum to apply on your lashes everyday as it is a chemically treatment afterall and your lashes will be dry and frizzle without it.
Please read our blogpost here.
IMMEDIATELY. Yes if the lash lift is done properly, having make up on immediately after wouldn’t affect the curl.
You might want to prevent from wetting them for 24 hours though as it can lighten the lash tint if you’re also wanting to get it done on the same appointment .
This can happen if you’ve had the traditional lash lift done which the lashes are chemically. This is normal especially if you didn’t use a recommended aftercare.
Should you want to avoid this from happening, try our Nourishing Lash Lift where there is no harsh chemicals used and you will have a better much grow out and without frizziness.
While most of our clients prefer a very strong curl, we do have clients who prefer a softer curl, our very experience lash technicians will be able to assess the shape of your lids and natural lashes and adjust the curl according to your preference.
Eyebrow Tattoo FAQ
Numbing cream will be applied for 15minutes prior to treatment and it will be completely painless! YES as incredible as it sounds, our nano-machine technique is painless as compared to traditional microblading which can be pretty painful for a lot of people. Most of our clients fall asleep during the tattoo session!
It can last anywhere from 1-3 years, sometimes even longer. It totally depends on your skin type as well as the skills & technique of the brow tattooist.
Too many benefits as compared to microblading! Results lasts much longer, more natural looking, painless, no scarring (microblading can cause a lot of scarring due to how pigment is implanted into skin), suitable for all skin types (including mature & oily skin type which microblading will not work on).
For more in depth details please visit our blog
The result of your tattoo is highly dependant on the experience and skills of the tattooist. Everyone can create a crazy looking tattoo but a truly experienced tattooist will be able to create a work of art- so natural that no one will be able to tell that you’ve had tattoo done!
Read our blogpost to have a better understanding on how to choose a right place to have your brows done.
It depends on how saturated the colour of your existing tattoo is. Our skin is like a glass of water and can only hold a certain amount of pigment. If your old tattoo is too saturated or have turned blue-black, new pigments might not be able to penetrate and you might highly need to get them lasered off before getting a new fresh tattoo.
We do recommend a consultation as the amount of saturation varies from person to person. We will make the appropriate recommendation once we assess your old tattoo.
Unlike microblading where your tattoo will look super bold and intensive and scabs for weeks, you will only experience a slight darkening from our technique and colour will look natural after just about 5 days. There will also be no scabbing and you will be able to shower the next day.
Brow Lamination FAQ
Brow lamination is a beauty treatment designed to give your eyebrows a fuller, more defined look. It works very similarly to a lash lift where a chemical solution is applied to the brow hairs to straighten and set them in a uniform direction. This results in brows that appear thicker, smoother, and more groomed, with the hairs lying flat and pointing in the same direction.
Yes it is! if you don’t wish for your brows to look too wild, you can brush it to your preferred angle.
Our stylists will teach you have to style and brush your brows at the end of your treatment.
Yes it does! However the longer the length of your brows are, the better and fuller looking the result will be.
They should last anywhere from 4-7 weeks depending on how fast your brows are shedding.
The brows that we lifted during your treatment will stay lifted until they fall out naturally. The brows that you are unable to brush up throughout the weeks of your treatment will be new growth.
Other FAQ
Both treatments are meant to colour your brows to a deeper colour.
Henna offers a couple benefits that are superior to chemical brow tints:
-stains the skin better
-a natural alternative & helps to grow your brow hairs if done often
-wider variety of colours that’s customised for each client ( from blondes to brunettes)
-lasts longer than chemical brow tints.
They are two completely different treatment.
Brow henna is colouring of your brow hairs- similar logic to a brow tint wherelse brow lamination is the restructuring of your eyebrows so that they are lifted up to create fuller looking brows- similar logic to a lash lift. (brow tinting can be done following a lamination).
We would love our salon to be a calm and serene environment where clients can let their hair down and relax. Our salonโs insurance does not cover children.
However, if your child is well behave, above the age of 6 and able to sit down and play with his/her iPad, and not making noises which will potentially disturb other clients, exceptions can be made.
Eyelash extensions: We have done extensions on clients through different trimesters and we don’t see any issues except for when you’re getting really big towards the end especially if you’re booking in for a 2 hour appointment. In this case please let us know beforehand and we are happy to split your appointment into two different sessions!
We do have cushions and pillows in our boutiques as well for you to put on your back to make you feel more comfortable. You can also lie sideways as long as your face is mostly flat.
Lash lifts
There is no direct evidence to suggest lash lifts are harmful during pregnancy and we have done lash lifts over the years on pregnant ladies with no issue as the chemicals used during the treatment is not in contact with your skin.
Brow Lamination:
There is no direct evidence to suggest laminations are harmful during pregnancy however we do recommend holding off during pregnancy and breastfeeding as the chemical lotions are in direct contact with your skin during the treatment. If you really want to have it done, we are happy with perform the treatment if you can get a letter of approval from your GP.
