Complete Updated Guide 2024 to lash extensions aftercare
Thank you for visiting Lash Sanctuary and giving us the chance to pamper you!
Eyelash extensions is a luxury treatment, in order to ensure that they last as long as possible, please follow the aftercare instructions below faithfully.
Extensions will be fully waterproof after the initial 8 hours when the glue has completely cured. The only things they are scared of are heat (can cause the curl to straighten) & oil ( cause extensions to fall out faster than they should).
- you will be expecting 2-5 extensions falling out per eye, per day. (Some will fall out with your natural lashes attached while some will just be the extensions itself) Sometimes there will be less fall out and sometimes there will be more! This is absolutely normal due to our natural lashes’ shedding cycle. It is also normal for the rate of fall out for both eyes to be different 🙂
- You can get your extensions wet almost immediately after application thanks to our in-house adhesive coupled with sealant.
- Never apply mascara (especially waterproof ones) or curl your lashes. Mascara will cause extensions to clump together and rip your natural lashes out when your are cleansing so it’s is a big NO! Curling your lashes will also cause extensions to fall out prematurely.
- Do not go to sauna or swim for 2 days. Frequent hot showers may affect the retention of lashes as well.
- Do not rub or tug the lashes.
- Do not use oil base makeup remover, water base is good!
- Try not to sleep on your face. The side where you sleep on often will tend to have more fall out. Wearing a silk mask will help and they are available in our boutique.

Silk mask to protect your extensions
- Pat them dry gently with towel/facial tissue after getting them wet.
- It is imperative that you clean your extensions well with make up remover(must be water base), followed by lash extensions shampoo using a special brush (available in our boutique) to keep your eye health in tip-top condition as dirt, oil, dead skin and environmental pollutants can get caught easily in your extensions. Cleaning your extensions will also allow them to last longer!
Lash shampoo
- when removing eye make up, do not let your cotton pad touch the extensions as the fibres on the cotton pad will pull out your extensions.
- Just leave your lashes alone whenever you put on skincare/makeup (when you apply eye cream please avoid the lashes!)
Enjoy your new lashes!
