Do all eyelash extensions look fake?

There is a common misconception and worry from our new clients that extensions can look too fake/long and they want something that is age appropriate and not too out there. This is because they have seen it on other people where the extensions looked way too long or thick and it scares them from getting it as most people prefer them to look natural and classy.

A professional lash salon should carry out a detailed consultation to find the exact look that the client is after instead of just slapping on the same length and thickness for everyone even though it does not suit their eye shape and life style- resulting in a mismatch of expectation and clients not having a good experience.

Yes! The good new is that the look of extensions is complete customisable according to exactly how you want it! Whether you want people to not be able to tell that you have extensions on or you want to glam up for some special occasion!

Lengths available

Although extensions are available in many different lengths. The most common lengths we use in our boutique is 8-11mm as that’s the most lightweight and safest option suitable for most natural lashes. Inner corners should not be more than 9mm as inner corner natural lashes are weaker a short.

On clients with strong and healthy natural lashes, we do apply a few 12 & 13mm if they prefer them to be longer.

We do not recommend anything above 13mm though as they will look messy just after a couple days due to how heavy they are, they also do not last as long as the shorter ones.

Different types of curls available

The most popular curl would be the medium (mascara look) and strong (strip lash look).

However for those with mature/hooded eyelid, we do recommend a strong curl as it will give your eyes a really nice lift and the strong curl will look like a medium curl you due to the structure of your eyelid. 🙂

Intensity various depending on your natural lashes condition

It is possible for anyone to have a natural look. However, if you are into a very intense and dramatic volume look, your natural lashes would need to be in very good condition (no gaps from previous damage due to lash extensions/no fine lashes/sparse lashes). This is because we can only attached the extensions to areas where you have natural lashes on. So the more natural lashes you have>the more we can apply>the thicker it can look!

eg. if your natural lashes is quite weak/short to start with, a technician who really cares for the health of your natural lashes will not agree on applying longer lengths on you as longer extensions are heavier, your natural lashes may not be ale to handle the weight and will fall out very quickly and may even cause damage to your natural lashes.

The exact same set of extensions applied using same length, curl, and volume can look very different on different people depending on how much natural lashes they have.

Realistic expectations

Before your appointment, it is recommended that you bring along photos of your desired look to show your technician during the appointment so expectations can be matched! 🙂
